Need some new car help
« on: July 23, 2012, 11:58:58 am »
The time has come for me to think about getting rid of the Golf Tdi, I just fancy a change and I am looking for some suggestions.

It needs to be Diesel, I’d like ideally a good MPG and it needs to be fairly well speced and sporty looking other than that I have an £8k budget and Im 22 so any suggestions?

I had a 1.9 105Bhp Jetta for nearly two years and recently sold it at 130k miles, l wouldn’t say I loved driving it as it was more of a daily hack but it served me well and cost little to maintain. Over the weekend I bought a nice tidy, low mileage GT Tdi 170 which is a vast improvement on the Jetta in that it is pretty damn quick yet on ¾ of a tank I have averaged 48MPG which is only 3MPG less than the Jetta. This I can live with

With the cost of petrol and my annual 25k miles PA means i would be financially raped if i went back to a GTi.

25K? Ouch, I don't blame you then mate. That would be triple my consumption, as I drive a Tranny Connect to work and back.
