On older cars you used to be able to get things called Sprint boosters which essentially changed the throttle map so that small throttle inputs from thed driver equated to larger throttle output. It didnt make it faster, just made it feel faster!!
The stock throttle map on my car is terrible for this. Around Mallory at 3/4 throttle on Gerrards corner(in the wet) the slightest movement was bringing on full throttle. Really off putting and makes it difficult to modulate the throttle.
The linear throttle map means it is so much easier to modulate and control the throttle, especially in the wet, when cornering hard. I have much less wheels spin as a result.
Plus it doesnt make it slower, you just have to use more of the peddle.
