price ok? (drop links)

having my drop links replaced and the anti toll bar sorted on monday. been qouted by a garage who i trust and am friendly with.

qouted 120 including vat for each side and genuine vw parts.

seem good? works out about 60 per side and then the anti roll bar bit that was making the god awful noise.  i know its only about a ten minute job and the diys seem good but i really dont have time this cominmonth to be doing stuff on the car and just wanted a quick and easy solution from the garage.. on the other side atleast i wasnt charged for the initial inspection :)

the mechanic also gave me two options genuine oem route which i took or cheap drop links and parts which i didnt so im trying to work out the mark up and whether its a good deal for oem parts etc

Higher quality droplinks (febi bilstein) are £15 each
Cheaper oe spec ones are £9 each

So car up on lift, front wheels off, droplinks off, new ones on, wheels back on and quick test drive takes 1 hour if all goes well. £30 parts and £90 p/h labour.

might have a word about the price. do the front wheels have to come off? ill need to try and find my security nut tonight

Can do it with wheels on, but access is easier with them off.

I fitted QH droplinks to my car as they were better made than the OE items and cheaper to.

Had the nearside droplink changed on my MK2 Leon cupra for £60 at my local garage so sounds about right. It was 40 minutes labour and the part was around £12 I think

cheers everyone, the car ia allllll fixed now and theres none of that god awful hair ripping out knock and bang over evwry defect in the surface of the road
