Air Con Removal Guide anywhere?
« on: July 24, 2012, 12:06:13 pm »
Ok so my Air Con has never worked so to gain some flow to the THS IC, lose 10kg and apparently gain slightly from no pump to drive I am going to take the plunge.

Has anybody seen a guide anywhere?

I searched and noted that JonnyC has/had done it and TfsiMike has but want to do it myself.

Please no arguments as to why from newbies the reasons are above. I noted one of the other topics went this way.

I have a picture from Jonnyc's thread so know what needs to come off.

Thanks to all who reply

Hi we removed Johns Herdys A/C & Mikes plenty of others too

The belt you need you can get from Euro-C-Parts
Their no : 202660555

Remember to seal the a/c expansion block up in the bulkhead so moisture cant get in

Hope this helps Jnr :happy2:

This may sound stupied but i take it you still get heat in winter if this is removed?.

Apparently so, yes.

I am not sure if there is any coding to do but it doesn't work anyway so what's the difference.

Bloody Tourans has just packed up as well. Told I need a new pressure sensor but expect a pump as well.

That lasted 8 years so marginally better than 2-3. I couldn't tell you if it had it fixed before I owned the Golf though.

Statller took mine off when i went stage 2+ well over a year ago now. Heater still works as it should. Hate aircon anyways and lets face it were not exactly in a country where we get blistering temps 6 months out of the year be lucky to get 6 days, windows down suffice. Good luck matey :happy2:
