Carlo.

Sorry, i'm gunna ask a stupid question - I take it H9 bulbs fit the gti and you have no problem with the 65w?? Only reason why I ask is that I have heard going above 55W can fry the circuits! I want to get new lights but don't want to ruin the car!!

His eBay shop...

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/extras4cars?_trksid=p2047675.l2563

But as above, email him, tell him your on this site and ask for a price for an interior set (plus number plate bulbs) of LED's and they look great BTW, worth a couple of quid of anyone's money and easy to install as well.

Just fitted a complete set bought from Matt on eBay, only problem is that after fitting the glove box and footwell lamps they have ALL STOPPED WORKING,anyone any ideas why ?

Also a slight gripe, the bulbs arrived and there are no model or type numbers on any of the packets ???  I know I have fitted the correct size as this is straight forward, could I of blown a main fuse, if so anyone with an idea which one to look at ?

cheers

Hmmmm, definitely strange that they have all stopped working?  :stupid:  Could be a fuse??? Im not sure mate.

Lots of people have fitted these now and they are all SO pleased with the results.  :pomppomp:

I can help you with the types of bulbs and where to put them though. Here's what they look like and where they go

5SMD x6 (Glovebox x1, Front Map x2, Rear Map x3)

8SMD Canbus x2 (footwell)

42mm x1 (Boot)

36mm x2 (sunvisor)

36mm Canbus x2 (numberplate)

Anyone changing their lights to LED may want to consider getting a few extra 7.5 fuses simply so if you fuse the circuit when installing them you can just slot a new one in!

My car with the LEDs all fully installed. Makes a massive difference:

bulb no 8smd, does anyone know why I have 4 of these in my set when it says you need 2 on this posting ?
my set consists of 16 lights in total, have not fitted them yet but was just wondering why I have an extra set of the above.
also on the picture that particular bulb has the no 221 printed on it, mine has 151 printed on it ?
does this matter,,,
tahnk you

@scottm72

I have a few spare aswell from my LED install so i'd guess that is normal.

The other question - L went off matching bulbs to the pictures and nothing's gone wrong. If it matches the picture and you put the numberplate one in the numberplate bulb holder, for example, it should all work.

thanks johnmn I have written down all the places they go and I will put as instructed, how long did it take you to install them please.
I bought 2 complete sets as they where so cheap and just in case I ever need a spare but I should prob buy some spare fuses as someone else said,
can you buy a fuse kit, something that has all the different amps to make it a good spare set to keep ?
I think I will just install 1 at a time and then check it is working ok rather than the whole lot then they all don't work lol,, should I need to disconnect the battery for install do you think,
thanks

took me under an hour but I've done it a few times. Take your time and get some good quality trim tools, help save your plastic interior and stops you touching metal on metal

A fitting guide.....

Just get some generic blade fuses from everywhere and anywhere for a couple of quid. On eBay, Amazon, Halfords etc

I think I will just install 1 at a time and then check it is working

installing them one at a time you'll know if they are working. Matt checks each bulb before he sends them out so tou know they WILL work. If it doesn't work, you've put it in  the wrong way round or shorted a fuss by connecting metal parts, ie footwell and glovebox.

No need to disconnect battery

thanks
