Torni Red MK5 GT **back to stranded**
« on: July 26, 2012, 11:11:12 am »
Hello People,

Thought I'd start a build thread as my bro (Grande Gti) keep's going on about it. I bought my self a MK5 GT In November. I said i'm not modding this as I was not planning to keep it for long, but plans changed as my bro talked me into it… LOL

Now the thing is I managed to delete all the early pictures I had on my phone while I was doing the changes. :surprised:

Spec:-

Golf GT 2.0TDI (170)
Front arm rest
Luxury Pack1
Storage pack
Sunroof
Multifunction steering wheel
Paddle shift
Winter Pack
Sat Nav
Bluetooth phone kit
17” GT Alloys

Added R32 Front xenon's and Back Lights (took the ones my brother bought when he wasn’t looking) getting better every day!!!!

I have lowered the car on Eibach pro sport coilovers and new wheels.

Was bit bored though we detail the car...

All Comments Welcome...

Harvey

Nice - Particularly like the wheels fella.

One of the more niche sets around the scene  :happy2:

^ Nice pic < Add it to the red Colours thread - You all look very happy with your dubs. And a Warm Welcome to the forum  :happy2:

I quite like those wheels. And I just noticed someone at the wheel inside the car, looking like he's stealing it!

Right Guys here is on update to what’s been happening  :driver:

Since I have lowered the motor its been giving me issues knocking front left. First I thought it was the drive shaft catching cheeked couldn’t see any marks… started looking around for other place, noticed that the arb has marks on it seems like the arb is hitting the wishbone.

I started reading the forums to get answers. Found few threads saying to get Subframe Spacer Plates Kit.

So I ordered them in from VW and fitted…

Tested the car knocking is still there…

Got bit bored thought I get some tyres found a set of Yokohama Parada 215/35 R18 change from 225/40 R18…
Motor looked like a 4x4 so I though I go lower…

Back took out rear adjusters…

Front

before

after

I will add more pictures soon as I take them

I been away for a week on holiday thought I get the car ready for MIVW and give the car in to the garage to get fly wheel changed as it was really noisy…

This has burned a massive hole in my pocket for now as its cost just shy over £1000  :sad1:, but should get the money back from the warranty guys  :P

I had another surprise I was told by Ricky   there’s me on holiday thinking what can this be may be a remap for my birthday  … but I come back to this …

………
…………
…………-->

My dad though he borrow the car as always when parking up kerbed the rim!!!!  :congrats: This is not the first time he did this to my mk2 golf before edition 38 few years back...

When I asked him he said “that the kerb moved towards the car and he couldn’t avoid it” with a big smile on his face I just had to laugh.

For now I cant do anything about this now so will fix this after MIVW   (not like it’s a show car lol)

All comments welcome...
