Oil level/temp sensor?
« on: July 26, 2012, 08:04:57 am »
Are these a known problem and prone to failure? I keep getting a yellow 'check oil level' warning. It is intermitent and will do it every few days. The oil level is fine as since its been doing it I make sure I check it more regularly. I also have Polar FIS Advanced which displays my oil level and is always reading around 28-30.

Is this likely to be a faulty sensor? I will have a chance to get underneath it next weekend so will check the connection too.

I had this problem about a yr ago, got Vw to look at it on a service and possibly replace it if needed, turned out it didn't need replacing, not sure what they did but it's been fine ever since

Thanks for the reply.

Anyone shed any light on this? Did it again this morning. Have searched on here previously and came across a few threads but was to do with activating the sensor in the cluster when US clocks had been fitted.
