I've got a tornado red ed30... Normally I just wash, dry & wax... But I'm thinking of polishing too... Do I wash, dry, polish & wax or wash, dry, wax & polish??thinking of getting some victoria red wax.. Anyone recommend a good polish to go with the wax...using hands so no machine

Why would you apply a layer of wax and then polish it back off again?  :stupid:

Correct order would be:

wash
dry
I would honestly use tar remover at this point
rinse
clay
wash
dry
polish
seal (with wax or sealant)

Hand polish - look at AG SRP. multiple passes.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

I would recomend poorboys natty red wax on your car. It gives the red a lovely deep shiny gloss. But as stealth said you need to prepair your car correctly first for the best results

You can try it and let us know. On detailingworld, they tried different hand polishes (all on a red car) and AG SRP came out top.

i used AG SRP on my car nearly a year ago, did it by hand and then followed up with EGP and the two together have formed a great basis for a good finish to my paintwork which has meant i've only ever had to wash and wax since and still get an excellent finish and protection that lasts for a couple of months. I'll get round to stripping everything and redoing by the back end of summer... i hope.

Anyway point is i fully recommend AG SRP for polishing by hand and hear the added bonus is that the new stuff doesn't stink as badly as the version i used, nearly made me puke

Especially the new formula is very good, less white dusting... But as Mr Maxload says, Red Nattys is very good.Any Meguires product to be fair is excellent and would highly recommend them. That's all I use along with red Nattys an I can assure you,it's the deepest red GTi that I've seen on the forum, and I've seen a few

Again the more you do it over time, the better the Red will get   :happy2:

I've used AG SRP for years and have been really happy with the results

But I tried poor boys black hole glaze and the nattys wax last time I done my car(black) and found it so much easier to use
Smells good too!
