Brake upgrade
« on: July 31, 2012, 10:07:01 am »
I'm trying to decide whether to go the nqsbbk or R32 345mm route on my vRS,
I have already bought the Porsche calipers a few months ago, but haven't done anything since, I was in contact with DaveB about the brackets etc, I'm sure it would be easy to sell the calipers if I went the R32 route anyway....
Can anybody who has had both kits give me the pros and cons of each setup, apart from the extra weight of the 345s,
I'll probably use the brembos but want to be sure to do the right thing!
Thanks

I can't speak for the NQS BBK, but I can say the S3/R32 fronts are incredible stoppers, and aesthetically the bigger disc looks better imho of course!

I had both on my Mk6 Golf and the NQSBBK was the better performing kit with the right pads and J Hooked discs, the extra weight of the R32/S3 setup was noticeable IMHO  :happy2:

Totally agree with the weight - they are certainly not light  :signLOL:

I'd say for road use, the extra braking is well worth the added weight.

As somewhat of a noob to changing brakes, I was confused by the NQSBBK and all the components needed if you wish to DIY, so went for a more simpler bolt straight on option.
