Kenwood Head unit wiring
« on: August 01, 2012, 10:29:12 pm »
Hi all, I have just puchacesd a new Kenwood DVD head unit for my GTI, the shop selling it said the adaptor is just plug and play and no need for any additional wiring, im sure I have heard on here that you need to change some of the wiring so it turns on and off with the ignition - any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Dan

You will need:

Facia adpator
Wiring adaptor
Aerial adaptor

You will also need to connect the new head unit to a switched live so the new unit will be switched off with the ignition.

ok, got all of those which is good.

I take it the best place to take it from is the fuse box, or is there a switched live power feed from behind the dash somewhere?

I connected to a spare connection in the fuse box.
