new oil cooler
« on: August 02, 2012, 06:57:41 pm »
Hi

I have just been to the ring, I had problem with the oil getting hot.
The turbo just cut off in the last corner before the straight. After 2 laps.
Anyone tried this?

Maybe someone now if it possible to get a bigger cooler or enything?

Thanks
Thomas

How do you know it was the oil getting hot? The air getting hot (or the intake air into the engine) causing heatsoak which would have lost you power.

I have honestly never heard of anyone on the forum upgrading the oil cooler

Have you updated the Intercooler? That would be the first thing I would do

But how often are you going to be driving so hard for so long?

There ist an OEM solution from VW !!

Do a search for the additional water cooler. Some GTIs and R32s for hot climate
come with this fitted from factory. I already posted some pics and part numbers.
