MAF sensor
« on: August 04, 2012, 02:36:10 pm »
Hi all I was driving earlier today in my Leon (cupra) and the MAF died. I unplugged it the car restarted and drove fine plugged It back in and died instantly.
Where would be best to buy another and are they the same as a normal GTI?

Dealer will sell you a bosch part at an inflated price.

Andrew page or euro car parts will sell the same part at a better price.

Cheers for the advice gents. I took the old one off and soaked it in isopropanol its brought the MAF back to life until Monday at least.

Symptoms were rough idle followed by car not responding to throttle inputs then failure to start.
I disconnected it and all returned to normal. I cleaned the sensor and it is working again albeit the dealer I bought it from will be supplying a new 1 on Monday
