Door Mirror Aerial Install
« on: August 09, 2012, 01:38:15 pm »
Guys,
I'm looking to fit a DAB/fm aerial into my passenger door mirror which I'll obviously need to wire back to the head unit. I can't find any guides with photographs where anyone has added wiring or changed the wiring loom in the door. I think I'll have to remove the outer door panel and wire it with the mirror cables into the glove box area.

Can anyone point me towards a guide that would help? I've already got the aerial which is oem for a T5, and I had the inner door panel off today whilst changing the grab handles but I couldnt work out how to do it and didn't want to make a mess I couldn't fix.

Cheers

Not heard of anyone doing it this way. Two ways I have seen are the cheap option (that i use) putting one on the inside of the windscreen passenger side or routing a cable all the way to the back of the roof and using a proper dab fin aerial
VCDS cable HEX-USB+CAN. New but can do the basics including coding

I know, but I want to try something different. Just need to know where to start with the door wiring...
