Transferring itunes to MP3 then onto RNS510 using 'tuneclone'
« on: August 12, 2012, 02:01:09 am »
Does anyone know how to retain music in it's correct album order rather than just ending up with lots of individual tracks?

I'm moving itunes over into 'tuneclone' to get it into MP3 format, when I copy it onto SD card I just get a huge list of tracks and also cuts a few seconds off each track.

Anyone know a way round this?

Cheers, Andy.

why are you moving it to whatever tune clone is when you can right click and convert to mp3 in itunes?
Loads of extra's and retro fits.

Can't right click on mine as it's a Mac, you need to convert them all to MP3 and tuneclone seemed to be the most recommended way to do it. If you know a better way please do tell.

I'd really like to be able to just copy albums rather than just individual tunes as it's far from ideal.

Cheers, Andy.

Not sure on using tuneclone as i did as mentioned already and right clicked to convert to mp3 which you can't do

As for correct album order i've simply put albums in folders on my SD card and numbered so they play in the correct order and not alphabetically, i've not transferred them over to the hard drive but assume it would remain the same as when on the SD card

Not 100% if this will work, but it def sorts out the cut/duplicate tracks etc.

Download.... Hidden Cleaner.

Then drag this to the Bottom toolbar of your mac.

Then when you do anything with your SD cards or memory sticks, instead of ejecting them, drag them into the Hidden Cleaner icon.

This will clean/tidy up the crap on your card/stick.

Download it, plug the SD card in the mac, then drag the SD card icon on to the Hidden Cleaner icon in the toolbar.

Then you can take out the card. (no need to eject)

Give it a try in the RNS.

Cheers guys!

I  managed to get to the bottom of it................

In itunes I need to go to 'preferences' and set the 'advanced' menu to allow 'convert to mp3', it had a default setting of 'convert to AAC' instead. This changes every track on there to mp3 and then you just copy them over from the hard drive on your mac directly onto an SD card......................tried it this morning on the way into work and 'great success' as they say.

All in artist order and full tracks and info included........................I'm happy now  :happy2:

Andy.
