Looks great John!

How come you aren't using the ITG intake?

The Evoms looks better and flows as good as the ITG. Then there's the fact that it has a smaller diameter MAF housing, which I can't use with the Extreme map.

It was under £100 for the cover and the engine bolts it fits on. Painting cost me under £50. Steve Jr at Statllers sourced them for me. :happy2:

Ah. Not bad that.

I'll have to give them a buzz when I can  :happy2:

The Nology plugs made a real difference to the car. Steve Jr at Statllers Recommended them for me as he now stocks them. The car had developed a small hesitation around 6krpm and this was directly due to the stock plugs deterioration.

The bumf from their website shows the difference between the Silver and Iridiums.....

"About 50 million years ago an asteroid crashed into Earth and wiped out the dinosaurs. What was left behind is a layer of Iridium-rich clay all over the world.  They should have left the Iridium buried!

Silver
Find a fitment
Identify your plug
Torque specifications
Buy Silver Plugs

Stop playing around with spark plugs that feature Iridium electrodes, Platinum electrodes, Copper electrodes, fine wire electrodes, split electrodes, ring electrodes or multiple electrodes - get serious with silver electrodes!
Silver is the best electrical and thermal conductor of any metal.  This makes Nology Silver the best spark plugs in the world.

Silver Center Electrode
More Spark Power
Deliver the Most Powerful Spark
Increased Horsepower
Cleaner Combustion
Long Lasting
Race Proven Design
Top Quality Materials
Why shouldn't I fit Iridium plugs?

Iridium is a super dense material and therefore extremely resistant to wear. That's it!
It is a terrible thermal conductor and a bad electrical conductor, so why would anyone use it to make a spark plug center electrode? Since car manufacturers have to guaranty that their engines stay in-tune for up to 100,000 miles, they can only achieve this with ultra dense Iridium or Platinum.

Nology Silver spark plugs are especially designed for high-performance engines. Silver is the best electrical and thermal conductor of any metal, which makes it the ultimate material for a spark plug's center electrode. The large diameter silver center electrode increases spark carrying ability and spark power. Silver is extremely resistant to erosion, guaranteeing a virtually unchanged electrode gap for the life of the spark plug. Most Nology Silver spark plugs are without a resistor, perfect for performance enthusiasts who demand the most from their engines. For racing or dependability and efficiency for everyday use, Nology Silver spark plugs deliver the most powerful spark.

If you're not using Nology Silver™, you're not going as fast as you could be."

I had the paintwork done separately. Steve can have it painted too, but it would be a little more. :happy2:

Cheers John. That's good to know.

Oh, stop spending my money  :signLOL:

Think I may try a set of Nology plugs too.

I'll let you know Robin. The Iridiums lasted me under 2k miles and less than 3 months at my level of tune. Steve Jr says these should last longer with the WMI too.  :happy2:

As you know John, I'm not one to be influenced by your mods lol, but any ideas if that sort of engine cover would fit my car???  :congrats:

I thought gold was supposed to be the best hence its use in electronics?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

I thought gold was supposed to be the best hence its use in electronics?

Silver has the highest conductivity, however, whilst gold isnt quite as good, its often preferred for its resistance to corrosion.

Silver is known to erode pretty fast from what i gather.
