Steve has the dyno runs, so I'll need to get them off him. Midrange gives around 10-15lbft @ 3krpms which slowly increases to 42lbft @ 7krpm. Power is virtually the same until the K04 starts to level off around 5k rpm and then the difference increases to 7k rpm where the difference is 53bhp.  :happy2:
Golf R gone.

John Is this without wmi. I habe a K04 equipped tsi so would maybe think of this as an upgrade if without.

Sounds interesting.  Awesome gains at 7000rpm but that isnt going to be the most noticable day to day.  Rarely do i take the car to the redline unless on track.  Midrange gains?

As good as you expected or less so?

Get the graph up then

The main thing to remember with Johns car, is we got it going so well with the stock K04 to start with
112mph terminals at Inters this year to then find we had a pretty big boost leak after is something special !
Infact on the stock K04 I don't think anyone got near the power / torque figures or trap times this year
I think what we've achieved here now with the Loba is pretty good, you can look at this pessimistically and you'll see 28hp / 15lbft peak gain but look at it optimistically and correctly & you'll see 50hp  / 40ftlb increase when the stock turbos dead
I understand what Si means regards how often are you at 7k rpm but seriously here were talkin about Hurdy not Miss Daisy!! & with no midrange performance sacrifice anywhere at all but massively faster at the top end real world!, this cars hungry for revs now with the same kick as before, I'd hope at Marham well be fast with this setup compared to any stock K04 4WD cars, past 80 mph it pulls big chunks from a stock turbo car I know this for a fact from the initial testing, remember we're in and out of these tuned all day long
I'm taking my Ed to Marham too so be good to see the difference between the two! Hopefully they'll be some Garrett turbo cars running there I'd like to compare the two when they can stretch there legs for longer than a 1/4 mile

The Lo400 and Lo4XX compared IRL is what we have been waiting for, looking forward to see what the difference is like  :popcornsoda:

Over the top mod list ;o)

Hopefully Jakey boy my 4xx car 'should' be in the 12's grip dependent (on high boost it spins very hard in 3rd with the 888 SG's) so initially I'm goin to try rolling in third or maybe even fourth gear for the 30-130, the revised tune has a higher rev limiter so I can do it all in 4th gear and the latest mods have made one hell of a difference at the top end to the 4xx
if we've got time I think there's still a litte more to be had power wise before Marham, problem is we're slammed at the shop right now but I'm still going to try to work it in before Sunday and have some dyno time on the setup
I guess Johns will be in the late 14's, remember Marham is uphill for the first mile :-)

Very interesting!  Was hoping for more from that turbo to be fair. ( for the cost ect)

Wish i was at home to have a rolling WOT with you to see the difference.

You just need to build boost at idle now and have some epic launches!

(Still might slap that turbo on when i get home though  :driver:)

Thats my thoughts.  This was the LOBA turbo im most interested in the results for.

I had expected more, especially with the RS4 injectors, which of course adds even more money to the setup.  Surely this output is well within the working limits of the stock injectors?

I had told Steve that I'd be happy with an extra 30bhp at the top end.....I have 53bhp extra at 7k rpm's, so I'm very happy. Ultimately I would have liked the better spool to be more pronounced and maximum bhp to have been a little more than 28bhp and 15lbft  over the K04, but this turbo does virtually exactly what we thought it would over what was already a maxxed out set-up on the K04. I've been in contact with Thomas at GIAC and he agrees that Statllers tuning results are exactly what they believe, that someone who wants slightly better than stock spool with more top end, but that is still within the safe operating parameters of the engine without all the hassle of a BT kit and upgrades they need to get the most from them, should be looking at the L0400.

Remember on Awesome GTI's dyno on the K04 the car made 393bhp and (ahem!) 462lbft, so if you add the gains to those figures you are talking 421bhp and 477lbft! The full fat APR stage 3 kit on the new file makes 455bhp and 465lbft. Admittedly I'm running WMI, but even without it peak figures would still push to over 410bhp on Awesomes dyno.

People who were looking for miracles need to look elsewhere

They have had it recalibrated.  Its slightly more accurate so it would read around 680Hp at the most.

Thats true, it does exactly what it says on the tin.  Id imagine the gains at 7k will make a fair amount if difference on the 30-130.
