No worries Steve. It is probably as fast as I'd ever want it to be now, but once it is fully set-up it is.....to quote Jezza Clarkson......"EPIC"  :driver:

Setting the scene....

A damp private track in backwoods of Yorkshire, the air rank with the odour of exhaust fumes and stretching out in front of you a thin sliver of gnarled black, damp, partly muddy, Tarmac curving gradually uphill into the distance. The gearstick snicked into manual mode and the ESP turned off, revs build and you are off..........the nearly worn tyres slip and grip, your head and eyes go funny with the G force and...........  :driver:

Not bad to say it isn't even set-up fully yet the bum dyno said more power and the software calculates out at 447bhp. There's definitely more than spring pressure by the looks of it. 1/4 mile figures when I can after set-up.
Golf R gone.

Fast 0-100 there, will be good to see some 100-200kmh and 30-130 times too once she's finished.

The big turbo kit really brings the driver involvement right back up there on these 4wd cars doesn't it  :driver:

Me too. Also managed a 1/4 mile, but it was off a shockingly bad launch. Still an 11.8@117 on a rough, damp track isn't too bad for a start.

The driver feels his brakes suffering now too!

Lovely build Hurdy...very envious!!

I rang Awesome last week....they done an APR stage 3 kit on a Golf R manual car I believe. I was interested in this GTX kit only if going 4WD as the ED 30 just wouldn't cope with traction. The fitted price was £12k but that was because it needed fuel pump exhaust etc etc. I thought that was a bit steep because that was without brakes, intercooler, suspension, clutch pack and labour, so you'll need to factor in another at least 6k if not more. That's a whopping 18-20k investment on the stock price of the car. A huge grin factor but I could't stomach that investment especially at resell time.
I'd like to do what you have done perhaps buying a cheaper older S3 but knowing how well you can get the Ed30 to track ready status with the right bit's ultimately you are limited to traction even with a dif but it is a cheaper option even running track rubber.recently.
Another option I had been considering was buying an B8 S4 and going stage 2 with a big brake kit. MRC tell me that 500bhp is achievable on a drive in drive out £1500 investment and a £2500-3k brake kit.....seems like a cheaper option. They didn't mention clutch prices or suspension if need!

Looking forward to your vids as and when you get them done!

Maybe on the too do list: APR Stage 2+, KW Clubsports, Brakes, Diff.

£12k is a lot for the APR conversion. I reckon that my conversion would be less than half that. :surprised:

Give racedevelopments a call, for 12k I reckon with them you would get the APR turbokit, plus a fully built blue printed motor with a built head.

Awesome quote does seem a little steep, even on a completely stock car that requires a HPFP, intercooler and exhaust, as the turbo kit is only 6.5k. Labour costs should be two days for a bone stock car so that would only be 1200 pounds or so.
