New sparkplugs and R8 coilpacks fitted.

Coilpacks ARE different to the OEM ones. Seem to be less prone to failure and give a stronger spark, a "halfway hose" between OEM and Okada's for a quarter of the cost.

Info.........http://www.golfmk6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45050

 :happy2:

Hi Hurdy, could you share a link for the coil packs you bought?  Had a look on awesome and not convinced they are selling R8 coil packs as the ECS part number is different compared to the part number in the sale link from the mk6 forum above.  Do you know if all red tops are R8 or not?
Thanks

I bought them through Statller? I gave him the part number HS Tuning quoted in their thread. I believe the R8V8 and R8V10 plus the V8 Audi RS models have the same coilpacks too. I don't know if they all use the same part number though.  :happy2:

Apparently there are more secondary windings in the R8 one vs standard to give a higher voltage spark.

Read a thread about the coils ages ago.

stock : 3.3m ohms

5 cylinder coils : 4.75m ohms

R8 : 5.31m ohms

Okada: 6.2 M ohms
