Im amazed that REVO have not sorted out a DSG remap for the golf R by now.

....Isn't that because of much more difficult encryption by VW of the Golf R's ECU? And is it a common enough car to make it commercially worthwhile?

Why not? The first tuner to offer one will cash in big time, especially when the R becomes a tad cheaper to buy.

Not so much a case for just the Golf R (there isn't tht many of them about) but surely the encryption will be applied to most future DSG cars so yeah Revo I'd say should be interested in doing something for this now  :happy2:

I'd like to bet that if the USA had the option of DSG on their Golf .:R's there would already be four tuners with maps for it too.  :sad1:

Revo don't offer a dsg map for any of the s3 or R mechatronics.

Only real option is to send the mechatronics to hpa or hgp iirc just as teff has had to.

I don't see many people spending 399 plus vat on a dsg map which doesn't give as much advantage as an engine remap will.

Which extensions did you go for John?

This makes me sad although I have 10 days off from this Friday and I could just go on a Euro jaunt in the car

I had the TID Styling paddle extensions fitted to the Polo GTI and they fitted straight onto the Golf .:R = win!  :happy2:

Believe me I'd definitely be going Revo if they did both engine and DSG maps. I'd definitely be going APR if they did both engine and DSG maps. I'd definitely be going GIAC if they did both engine and DSG maps. all of these have shown good customer support in the past and all would be able to support a tune for a Loba LO4XX upgrade.

MRC, JBS ( Custom- Code ), AMD, and maybe a few others I'd be wary of for different reasons.

I'm APR stage 2+ and, I was gonna go down the Loba LO4XX Turbo but, the APR software isn't supported for it so if I did get it I'd have to change software! Unsure of what to do now!?

I would be too, although on my Ed30 I had APR followed by Custom-Code followed by Revo! You just have to bite the bullet if you want the kit :happy2:

So have you ruled out GIAC DSG software?

Ooh, now I knew Stertman was running the Loba turbo and using GIAC ECU software, I didn't know they had cracked the DSG software too. Statllers are also a GIAC dealer. I wonder if they could bag it for me. Could be that they had to send the mechatronics to the USA to flash it though!

Its a really good day out if youve not been before. Even spectating, you can see the whole track from the viewing area.

I would advise bringing your license, and filling out a form and bringing it with you anyway with some admission money. If anyone pulls out, there might be a slot available.

I would also advise putting your name down in reserve. With 1 week to go, a few pull out if their cars arent ready.

Well, I was reading about Milltek's Golf R in Nov 2011 edition and lo and behold I found that JBS can do Golf R DSG mapping!

Phoned up and sure enough they can. Now do I remap now with the DSG map or wait for Giac's offering out soon? Hmmm

John be be very wary mate with.the jbs dsg map!  Its not actually a full on dsg map, its just.a few tweaks here Nd there so you will find yourself dissapointed mate! If you want a full blown stage 3 box map, have steve whip your mech unit out and get it to the states. Its only a one week turnaround. :happy2:
