Well, finally made a conscious decision today and so I am going to keep the Mk6 a little longer and get it ready to do some track work.
So,upgrade Pistons, rods, head, Clutchpacks, Vagbremtechnic upgrade discs, Project Mu pads, race geometry set-up and new track tyres.
This time the target isn't more power, but making it all quick, reliable and consistent enough for track work abuse.  :evilgrin:

Booked Spa-Fracourchamp GP track day.
Booked VLN Nurburgring track day.

After the work is done I need to book a few local track days in March to get my eye back in, so probably Oulton Park, Blyton or Donington.

Great to hear you're keeping the R and making it into a proper track monster!

I've been to Donington a couple of times as a good mate lives very close. Let me know if you do plan to go - I've always found most trackdays are devoid of interesting VAG cars. Would love to see yours frighten some Bee-ems and Jap stuff!

Had a white van man reverse into my car last week. I was on an industrial estate following the White van and he came to a halt. I also stopped about 15-20yards behind him as he put on his reverse lights. He then started reversing as if he had missed the unit entrance to the side of him, but when he carried on gaining speed I beeped my horn solidly. He slammed his brakes on and stopped about a metre from the front of my R. I thought great, he missed me, but then the van suddenly lurched backwards and the tow bar on the rear of his van bumped into the front of my car!!!
I couldn't believe it. I jumped out of the car and this small Italian guy who only spoke pigeon English got out of the van. "I sorry, it a jumped in da reverse gear" he said. "Ok, have you got your insurance details" I asked. He pointed to the damage and said " it a nothing" to which I replied "it's cracked the bumper and interior grille". anyway He fumbled inside the van, but found nothing. He said that he worked locally and I could follow him back to his place of work, which I did. He openly admitted to his boss that he had reversed into me, which I secretly recorded on my phone, just in case of issue. the company is legit and I have their insurance details.
