So, I went down to Midland VW today and saw Chris (Topher off Golfgti.co.uk) and had the DSG map (Custom-Code.....rather good map too  :smiley:) and HPA Gen4 Haldex remote race controller fitted. Great day out fiddling about with the car and customising the individual settings in the DSG map was great. Cannot fault the guys at Midland VW at all.

Came back early afternoon to do a little bit of testing with the Racelogic Performance box. The DSG map and Haldex controller have improved things slightly.......

Times done at the same place for consistency......

0-100mph in 10 mph increments....

1/4 mile time....

Best times of the day....


I can't imagine what Stefan's (TEFF's) car will be like, but I'm in a happy place at the moment

Stage 2+ should make quite a bit of difference to the 0-100 time and the 1/4 mile, but I doubt that there will be as much of an improvement on the 0-60time as I think most of the work has already been done for that now. :happy2:

If you were to compare all mods you did so far to achieve that compared to your previous car is R cheaper to mod?? LOL

Just thinking about gains vs price ratio!

Did some digging and found your old Ed30's times from your Vbox runs..

Will be interesting to do a comparison when the .:R is S2+ (40mph + though  :grin:). Which reminds me - when's the Milly making an appearance (and S2+ map)? I am possibly around your way tomorrow/Friday, so let me know if you're free?

The Milly is still on back order  :sad1: so I'm waiting for the next batch to be made.

Ahh yes I remember those figures, done at the same spot I did the .:R runs, so directly comparable.

Stage 2+ on the .:R should be under 9 seconds with the better launch.

No nitrous this time, it will be water methanol injection. Guys in the USA are getting over 400bhp with the stage 2+ and WMI combo! :surprised:

Yeah, I will be free on Thursday and Friday, Just a pity I can't get it to stage 2+ by then, so it will feel tame apart from the launch compared to your 135 Ben.

but we all know that US, Greek, Turkish and South African horses are smaller than ours so they get alot more Hp for identical mods :grin: 

From everything i have seen WMI gives 20-30hp gains, so that would still leave you way below 400hp unless your using a generous dyno that is  :wink:
