GIAC released their stage 2 map yesterday. Their stage 2 map is the equivalent of Revo stage 2+. It was developed on GIACs own in-house Golf R, with just the normal bolt ons of....

I was lucky enough to try this map over the weekend and I must say I am very impressed with it. It revs out to the redline swiftly and smoothly and without any hint of hesitation. The pull is strong and is easily faster than my Torque limited Revo set-up. 100mph comes up in under 10 seconds and I reckon low 12's at the Pod are easily achievable on this set-up.
I went out with Steve Jr from Statllers as GIAC asked for some maf logs on the hammer map that was on before stage 2 and then some logs on stage 2.
The Hammer map made 265g/s and on the dyno made 347bhp and just under 350lbft
The Stage 2 map made 296g/s and on the dyno made 379bhp@6480rpm and 360lbft. The 360lbft of torque held for almost 2000rpm rather than just being a peak figure, and then dropped off to 320lbft@6000rpm.
The car is also running the GIAC stage 3 DSG software and runs supremely well with the stage 2 engine map.
Overall I'm glad I made the move to GIAC and will stick with them from now on.
Any questions, ask away
John, I was getting 265g/s and I made 322bhp on JKM dyno.
Is Stattlers dyno a 'Heart Breaker' as per JKM?
I was under the impression it was pretty accurate so it maybe the differences between an ED30 engine and a 'R' but I thought they were pretty similar.
I have the DSG Stage 2 software as well.
Looking at that 322bhp on JKM's dyno = 347bhp on Statllers dyno
I was getting 265g/s on the first GIAC map and made 347bhp.
If the mass air flow directly relates to bhp (which it does) then ....
322/265= 1.215
My current GIAC map makes a consistent 296g/s, so on JKM's dyno the Golf R should theoretically make.......
1.215 x 296 = 359.6bhp
There are a few variables, like how lean each car is running, but overall it shouldn't be too far off.
