Looks beasty, yet still appears a sleeper?  Perfect.

Doesn't look like a sleeper to me - Looks purposeful, but I guess that's because we instantly notice certain mods.

At last some good photos to do her justice  :happy2:

Today the R went on a hub dyno, supposedly the most accurate way to directly read WHP and wheel torque on a car. The car was done in FWD mode for reference.

313.9whp & AFR at 12.5

Wheel torque at 333.5lbft

A few questions....

Calculating back to bhp and engine torque what multiplication factor would I need for FWD and DSG as my understanding is that DSG drivetrain losses are more than a manual?

Anyone with comparative AFR results? Looks good to me but unsure if the hump at 3000rpm that goes to 13.5 is too lean?

Anyone?

I've heard DSG & manuel losses are the same - or near as dammit

Sorry to throw a spanner in the works

So, what are they ?  If you've heard you must know the percentage losses?

Doesn't give much enlightenment. Maybe if anyone can remember the link to the website that gave hub dyno results. I can't find it even with searching.  :sad1:

A DSG gives more loss than a manual always! Nearly as much as an auto box, try turning the wheels on a DSG car while it's on a ramp and compare it to a manual, or try to push the car in neutral it's much harder to do

Where was the AFR probe plugged in John, the tail pipes?

BTW that's more wheel hp than my dyno showed

Yes,the probe was in the exhaust pipe. I think it was also in the valved pipe.

If it was in the Valved side if the exhaust then John, couldn't this explain the AFR hump?

You can't really measure AFR correctly after the cat John,  the AFR's look very stable after the initial load is taken up.
To check if the car is running lean you'd have to log the fuel measuring systems and lambda to see If the requested is lower than the actual, by the way your car drives & the previous OBD data we've taken, I would say its more than happy regards fuel trims  :happy2:

It was a Volvo performance day. Lots of T5 motors in different states of tune. A BMW E36 328 did 181whp, a Merc E55 AMG did 293whp. Top honours went to my mate Jon with an S40 auto with 354whp. Fast car that over 60mph!

My car feels very strong and is currently doing 12.2-12.3 on 1/4 mile runs with the Performance box.  :driver:
