Told you Chippy Johns went well Hurds!!  :driver:
If you remember he made 330 WHP on mine,
P.S it's the tyres and brakes that scare the sh*te out of me , you just can't stop that thing at all !!  :scared:

I've told him and the tyres are going. He hasn't done the brakes though! And as you've seen, they are smaller than a stock GTI's  :scared:

I think he's also done a few tweaks since your dyno run Steve. Dunno what exactly though.

How's she running with the two jet set up? I only dyno'd it after we'd fitted one jet, I'd guess the two jet would make more ignition advance from where we placed it
Is he still happy with it ?

BTW that's more wheel hp than my dyno showed

Is the whp you're quoting power at the wheels or power at the hubs John? I was under the impression that hub dynos will read slightly higher than normal ones because of less losses (through turning the wheels and there is no wheel spin etc).

Looking good either way  :happy2: Take me out for a spin next week?  :innocent:

Hubs, but AET give the readout as WHP.

We shall see about next week. I'm back at work for 7 days on the trot from Monday!

Wheel torque at 333.5lbft

Great figures John.  Is there anything that can be done to smooth the curves out it seems to drop/flat line a little

If that could be smoothed out between 3250-4500 and 4500-5500 rpm, is it recovering from the spike of torque at 3250rpm?  although i bet you dont even notice it lol. :driver:

Today the R went on a hub dyno, supposedly the most accurate way to directly read WHP and wheel torque on a car. The car was done in FWD mode for reference.

313.9whp & AFR at 12.5

Wheel torque at 333.5lbft

A few questions....

Calculating back to bhp and engine torque what multiplication factor would I need for FWD and DSG as my understanding is that DSG drivetrain losses are more than a manual?

Anyone with comparative AFR results? Looks good to me but unsure if the hump at 3000rpm that goes to 13.5 is too lean?

Anyone?

Those curves doesn't look good IMO John.
Why that funny shape?

Over the top mod list ;o)

The operator said the opposite.

"Very smooth take up of power" was his comment.

You ought to see the graphs of most of the others. Some of them looked like a bow saw edge on rough seas!

Are hub dynos more sensitive John?

I don't know Rich. Looking at some graphs I don't think the smoothing factor is the same.

I've used and tuned on a fair few hub dynos, and with tuned small capacity single turbo engines I always used to get that annoying torque spike, have seen it a fair few times with the tfsi.

Look at this link of a place that uses a hub dyno: http://torquetronix.co.uk/media-news/94-dyno-plots.html

The majority have a similar torque spike, so nothing to really worry about. It's also the main reason I went with a 4wd DD chassis dyno when I was dyno shopping.

Hurdy, if you are ever up this way pop in for a dyno test, considering an R for my next car

Good link that :happy2:

I may take you up on that dyno offer.
