No, the run was actually DOWNHILL. After all the debate on my thread about figures and whether to believe them or not I thought I'd post something that peeps would question. It just goes to show though, my car had to run like that to get 11.7 on wmi with 99ron. An 11.4 on the flat I reckon would need 500bhp to do it!

  :happy2:

My thoughts are that the car may accelerate faster going downhill, but the GPS doesnt know you are going down hill so you have to travel further to get to 1/4 mile?

Actually gps works in 3 dimensions, so it doesnt really matter if going uphill or down. You will get correct distance.

Update.....

been fiddling about and my hands are smelly. :signLOL:

RS3 in-tank fuel pump fitted today, with me helping/hindering Steve Jr. Need to do some VCDS logging, but all appears good in the hood and the car runs as sweet as a sewing M/C. So wound up the car, and did some more runs.

12.4  - 1\4 mile run...........uphill!  :surprised:

flat run revealed this...............   :jumpmove: (Mainly due to a top 3.4 launch to 60mph)  11.9 quarter @115mph

Golf R gone.

Haha that's madness. Can't imagine what it goes like now. Was quick enough when you took me for a spin when at R-Tech  :happy2:

John what's your honest opinion on the in tank pump?

I ordered it ages ago but haven't been home to road test it.

Blimey! Certainly shifts!  :jumping: Looking forward to seeing how far you eventually take this R Hurdy. Did you decide on any 19's in the end or are you sticking with the 18 inch TD's?

Hi Mike, It is more a preparation thing for further mods than something for now. It will definitely help if you are suffering from fuel deficiency at the HPFP side due to the in-tank pump not being able to supply the pressure to the low pressure side. As you can imagine my R is sort of wound out to the maximum and demand on the stock LPFP is pretty much 100% and needing more!

I still have the OEM 19's for show, but to be honest I doubt they will ever go back on.
