Well something is going on Wednesday.

The Radiator fan control module packed in and so I'm having a new fan unit. So whilst that is out a Eurojet Intercooler will be fitted and seeing as it means the intake manifold is easily accessible then at the same time the runner flap delete will be done as well as going from single to multi-point direct WMI injection.

Then I'll take it from there.

I doubt that many will refute the fact that it is "fairly" fast as it is now as 4 up it still does 0-60 in under 4 seconds

What sort of gains are you expecting from single port to direct port?

What about turbo.  Read somewhere that your going for the LO400 instead of the LO4xx now.  Is that right?

From my experience using Nitrous, The same goes for WMI....

It is more a case of equal distribution between all the 4 cylinders, When you are injecting single port you rely on the inlet manifold to distribute the WM equally and this is fine in small amounts but the more Water Meth you run you can run the risk of unequal distibution which can cause one or two cylinders to run lean.

Going direct port means you can run a higher amount of WMI or Nitrous and each cyclinder will get the same amount, Reducing the risk of running lean etc.

I haven't made a decision yet on the turbo, but t will be a Loba.

Gains on the ED30 were substantial and over 50lbft in the mid range over single port on the same car. I'd expect less, but even half that would be good. :happy2:

I like the idea of the LO400 personally.  Great alternative to the K04 upgrade, although id like to see the GIAC graphs without WMI turned on.

I was sent a dyno graph of an L0400 doing 407bhp without WMI.

With WMI I'd say 430bhp is easily within reach.

Realistically though, how much more do I need. It is a heavy 4WD car that can still do 0-60mph in under 4 seconds with 4 grown-ups onboard and is a low 12/high 11 second car on the strip.

With an Lo400 it would be a mid 11 second car at the strip and then after that it would be time to spend big money for realistically 0.7 seconds off the 1/4 mile and make it a high 10 second car. By then it would have lost it's low down reaction and driveability. I've always said that I wanted this car to be a fast car that keeps its flexibility and driveability, that I can take to the strip or track and not be shown up by anything other than out and out track cars or drag cars. The L0400 would probably be that turbo, but there are a few other things to do first. :happy2:

How large is this new intercooler then? I'd imagine pretty large.. if you've seen Olly's on his A4 DTM, it's basically larger than the rad itself lol
Can't wait to see more power

The LO400 makes more sense to me as well.  I agree, more power isnt needed unless for bragging rights.  After using the APR Golf i cant fathom why anyone would need a stage 4 output.  The last thing on my mind was Hmmm maybe another 100Hp and this would be perfect lol

It is around the same size as the APR/THS intercoolers........... :happy2:

Physically smaller than both the APR and the THS but still gives similar results I hear.  Really great price too.

If I was doing a K03 to K04 conversion and wanted more then the LO400 or similar hybrid would be a good option.   If I wanted loads more then it would be big turbo setup to stay reliable and not have to run wmi to get numbers ;)
