you should definetly have your internals done though i think for peace of mind.. the way my car pulls on only 1.5bar i dont think i would be comfortable running it on a stock bottom end

Steve has been running his ED30 on stock internals for a long time with the L04XX on and ran it at 500bhp for trackdays and the pistons and rods were ok. This was on a CDL block like mine which is stronger than the normal GTI pistons and rods in the standard GTI. There's now a local S3 running 450+bhp on stock internals too. However I will be doing the pistons and rods eventually and most likely sooner rather than later........assuming I don't sell up and get a MKVII R.

Going for an HTA3079 turbo with all the trimmings.

Any idea what your manifold will retail at, and will you use a V-band to K04 adaptor plate to use the K04 downpipe?

Nortech are developing the full kit on my R.

The exhaust will also be re-fabricated to suit as it will also be putting the screamer pipe into the exhaust. I'll be discussing it with James on Monday as I'm quite tempted by the HTA turbo's.

A HTA3079 will be a beast for sure.

Also back to the old chestnut of which brakes to use. Quite tempted by the HPA brakes with the 4 pot rears that utilise the main caliper for the handbrake. Quite a decent bit of kit too.    Not cheap though!!

Stubbled across the Brembo GT kit... they do a rear 4 pot setup. No idea on cost, but surely cant be as expensive as those

Yeah there are lots of big power tfsi mate especially overseas and they all seem to run strong on stock bottom end! I just didn't feel comfortable adding 300odd hp ontop my stock figures! The engine popped before I got a chance to anyway lol! You've done ur valvetrain already haven't you?

No, stock head, but it is in the pipeline as we speak.

I doubt the 0-60 will drop that much, but with the tyres I've ordered  and the extra oomph added to the revised launch control I reckon it may get down to 3.3. The 0-100 sprint should knock maybe just under a second off, so 7.7 ish to 100? It is a little subjective at the moment as it looks like the turbo kit in a base stage 3 spec ( lower spec than mine) will do around 420-440whp, so mine with cams, Uprated head, HPA intake mani and WMI should make a decent chunk more. In fact I'm beginning to wonder about having to do internals and Uprated Clutchpacks already!

Same AP kit that Ian (Ironside) has would be a great setup for you. Dave does a 4 pot rear kit too, but you will need Alloy rear hubs.

Are you still running iron hubs and wishbones all round?

Yes, both stock with Uprated bushes on the wishbones.

These big builds look great.....must admitt when I went out in the APR stage 3 R it felt mind blowing....drove at Combe and outside on public roads and had a few launches. The only fly in the ointment is the cost of these big conversions...been there before. These new generation car's are so much better to convert with big turbo's.

I have placed an order on a new S3 although haven seen the new R I was tempted to cancel....new demo is due to arrive in my dealer beginning of March. I had plans for new S3.

Meanwhile my track hack 2 litre 16V (As in Tim Stiles GTI tuning bible for those that know my car) is tucked up ready for the spring when I bring it for the track season.

I have been in touch with Awesome regarding my Ed30...thinking of converting from GTI Engineering map currently on car to APR's 3.4 ith RSC diff etc and clutch. The S3 will be my daily.
