Quick! 30-130 time is very quick. Sunglasses Ron did a very respectable 16.6seconds in his ed30 stage 2+ dsg. so 11.2 is mega :happy2: and that for me is the best test of performance in gear ect.

I did a 16.3 last year at the same event in my R. That strip is uphill for the first third of the way and so times are normally slower than on the flat, which my times were done on. :happy2:  It is also why I haven't included any Marham times. :happy2:
Golf R gone.

Your car is bonkers! Must be an incredible feeling to drive, I doubt my senses could keep up with the power.

No, it is GPS based and TV's 5th Gear tested it this week against a £30k F1 telemetry machine and it was never more than 0.1 second out. :happy2:

You'll love your car when you get it back.  :driver:

What spec were you running then?

11.2 is ridiculous in a Golf!!

Very jealous.

So what's approx damage....did you commission Statlers to do the entire build. The APR buld can be done for a reasonable deal but I need to find an R.

Looked at the MK7 R today in Taunton....very nice and I'm sure it will be great tuning potential. Wonder what turbo these are running?? K04 or more? I suspect it will be a bigger turbo to get 300bhp out of the box on stock ECU.
Pearl Black Edition 30 3 Door. DSG. (3rd Edition 30)
Maybe on the too do list: APR Stage 2+, KW Clubsports, Brakes, Diff.

Nortech Racing Solutions did the BT build as it is a development kit and will be available soon. It will be cheaper and more powerful than an APR stage 3 kit for sure.
The MKVII R is using an IHI revised turbo, similar to a K04 and runs that 300bhp at just 1bar boost.
Golf R gone.

Cheers guys.

Good day at Santa Pod today. 120 miles each way and 5 runs up the strip. All runs done on low boost setting using 99ron and WMI and in pump mode ( not race file ). This was just to gauge performance and a day out.. The results were very good.

19oC, clear day with a 9-15mph headwind.

Result was a pass of 11.46 @ 120.15mph off a fairly poor 60' time of 1.83 seconds.

My last run would have been my best as I did a 60' of 1.75 but geared up just as I hit the auto shift point and the ***** gearbox went up 2 gears and dropped me out of the power band. Still an 11.54 ET but would have been an 11.3.

All in all the car is running excellent.

Pic of two of the slips. I'm number 54.

For comparison a 650bhp GTR was doing 11.2 @ 125mph.

Golf R gone.
