I agree completely. Last month saw me considering the possibility of trading my 6-year-old GTI for a new R, but realistically the £34k price tag of the one I wanted was more than I'd like to pay for a Golf, regardless of how much I liked it, and I liked it a lot! The Edition 35 doesn't really do much for me, and positive rumours of the MK7 spec mean I'm playing the waiting game. Can't help but think I'm going to be disappointed. There's no doubt the car will be nice, but if it's still 50 - 60bhp down on its rivals I think they'll of missed a trick.
