Cheers Steve I'll go and have a look now, it just so happens that I'll be ordering a new turbo tomorrow so we'll see what money I have left after buying a new engine today

#2 cylinder conrod is defo fubard #3 not sure but looks like conrod bent slightly? Not making full travel to top of bore?? The turbo had a mass of water in which I expected so rather than refurb it I'm just going to buy a new one. I've also ordered new cambelt kit and turbo gasket and inlet/outlet gasket sets.
Once the engine is at the garage I'll get the zaffy over there and get it swapped over.

Well its all done just had Thorney Motorsport BF on and its at stage-1 272bhp - 280ft lb, bigger intercooler and full tbe with stage-3 and it should be into the 300+
The gearboxes on the vxr's are the weakest link so ill be getting the bearings changed at some stage just to make sure it doesn't go pop
The handling is actually quite good with the IDS+ and CDC it just sits in the corners and goes round them even better with the SPORT button has it sharpens every thing. The only thing ill be touching on the suspension side will be uprating the RARB.
Other than that i'm actually liking it more and more and I can actually put my bike in it without taking the wheels off
The new engine
And the interior
I know your thought on the VXR but I hope you like

Looks good Darren, i just thought of you yesterday, it has been a while
The flat tube from the airbox on top of the engine shouldn't it be possible to do better? warming the air up over the engine is a bad idea

Cheers guys
Jake there are certainly better ways the most common is the CDTI airbox which basically does away with the crossover pipe and directs it from the airbox straight to the turbo.
As above

It looks quite under-stated in silver. I would be tempted to put standard bumpers on it for a laugh. My mechanic made x2 ford connect vans with focus rs engines in that were
