Chassis
1) LSD
2) bilstein b12
3) ARBs
4) walk
5) 888s or supersports
6) s3 Jacking Points

Nice car and nice list, but if you're spending on getting the LSD, ARB's, walk upgraded then using 888's or other sticky tyres I'd be looking at either KW V3's or Bilstein B16's. Just an idea.

Fish

I have B14 as I didn't want 12s because of the eibach springs.

Nice in between and hardly any more money.

I am surprised you don't like the linear map.

I am stock at the moment due to an upgrade issue and the non linear is awful.

Well I finally got round to fitting some of the mounting pile of mk5 bits I've got lying in the hall, I got all the retro fits out the way today, so I fitted my MDI unit, 5K0 OEM Bluetooth Unit with mic and my RNS 510 and also upgraded to VIM, anyway all the install went perfectly and everything was fitted in oem locations, it took me about 41/2 hours and everything managed to pair with my I phone 5 without a hitch, also I've got to say the RNS with these add ons really is a top piece of kit. Without a doubt the best and easiest user interface I've used well done VW  :congrats:

Hi mate,

What did you think of the RS (against your old mk5 GTI?) I've had an ST in the past and can't help but look at those RS's. . .

Interesting that you've gone back to a MK5 though  :happy2:

Graeme

The RS is an amazing car mate, it's a lot better than the GTi in pretty much every department

Good too see you back in the game mate  :happy2: nice colour choice

Cheers Man !! Yea loving the white, it's not as hard to keep clean as I though it would be !
How's yours coming along ?

I've had the KWs on my black GTI and they are great, but as a daily driver they done my head in too rough on the shabby roads up here especially now with the little one

Really like your candy white, i'm personally not a fan of big mods on cars (personal pref) but yours are all subtle and really really like it! Top Job

Thanks, 30mm, you get some rubbing though on the arches during hard cornering and on bigger speed bumps the under tray of the car will bottom out ! They look great but a little too low to be practicle for me so ill be removing them in favour of b8 dampers and KW springs ( it will raise the car by 10mm )

Thanks max I've got a couple of external mods to do but nothing that's going to alter it massively, I thing I'm going to fit the rear edition 30 badge too as its looking a bit bare at the back

Thanks much appreciated

Your a very greedy boy Bry!

 :happy2:

Unfortunately the RS is away now, due to an unforeseen expensive roof repair :sad1:
I was going to keep it and just sleep in it with the family but my misses was having none of it, so away it went !

Being a vw fan boy it pains me to say it buy it didn't really compare to the edition 30, it was better than it in nearly every way.

The handling on the RS was amazing it just dug in and gripped whether it was wet or Dry !
Decent brakes ( although I don't think they hold up too well on track days )
The noise is just the best, pops, bangs, amazing sound, beats The M3s I've had in that respect which is quite impressive as I loved the straight 6!
Room wise and practicality beats the golf too, the boot is massive and I found it Easyer to get the little one in the back,
Which was a surprise due to the recaro seats.
Power wise it was great it just surged along on its low down torque and tbh I could of quite happily owned this as a standard car, which is mad considering its tuning potential
Build quality and materials were spot on aswell

BUT

The fuel consumption on it was pretty bad I averaged 23 mpg in my year of ownership and a big disappointment on the car for me was the finish, I really think time wont be kind to this car, all the rivets on my inner bumper went rusty. When I was cleaning it with the wheels off i notice that the inner arches, during spraying at the factory acquired some paint bubbles anyway when you pop these bubbles it reveals bare metal
I also heard some creaking from the rear end and traced it to the rear light, so I took the light off to check it out and when I removed the light I found out that the creaking was due to the plastic rubbing off the paint work, so much so that again it went to the bare metal !!!!!
On top of all of that the most worrying thing was that on 6 Points on my car the seam sealer had cracked, at the end of the day when water gets between the seams the car is going to rust from the inside out, because of this I'm not to sure how time will fair on these cars !

Would I buy one again ? Yes 100% and I will, although this time it willl be running along with my eddy, ive had 3 of these now so ive realised there is something about the car that keeps bringing me back, so this one is stopping with me for good ! :happy2:

A Couple of little easy peasy modifications I've fitted recently

My second Edition 30 build plaque got the ashtray treatment, all illuminated by my super white LEDs
(Ill get some pics up when I've fitted all of them)

Also a Porsche 911 Coolant Cap ive got to say i prefer this to the Audi R8 one, I also tried fitting the 911 oil Cap but it didn't fit my car for some reason ! So ill just get the R8 oil cap instead
