instrument needles
« on: August 20, 2012, 08:30:57 am »
Hi,

Can anyone help with this?

After removing the needles on an instrument cluster how do you ensure they go back in the correct positions? There seems to be no key or fixed position on the spindle.

Will the servo motors position themselves correctly if the dash is powered up? Allowing me to pop the needles back on in the correct place?

Whats the best way to do this?

Many thanks

Hi

be very careful or you will break the actuators

push them back gently and in a anti-clockwise direction

and don't push down too hard either

Hi,

Cheers, so when pushing the needles back on also I should be twisting anticlockwise? Push and turn type motion?

To get them off I used a small screwdriver either side and just wiggled them off. I didn't move the needles round the dial.

Thanks
