@ QD: Do you still have the Clio? Glad to hear life is good with you  :happy2:

Totally irrational but I simply can't see Hurdy in a TTRS. I can see him driving a Porsche though. I also think that a Golf .:R suits him better than a RS3. A Golf .:R with the RS3/TTRS engine would be the ultimate in my opinion.

Yes still got the blue bomb. Sat in the garage at home. Ideal will be a ttrs and the Clio (in a lockup at work) if finances can stretch.

What 37mpg combined for a petrol, 3ltr, blown 6 pot?!?!? Or is it the fact you have succumb to the devils fuel of late?   I say go for it pal, I'm sure Mat will agree..  :signLOL:

John - I would go for the RS3 pal. It may not be the lightest, fun-filled, best looking motor out there. But it does do a lot of things very very well and has 'that' engine of course, so potential by the bucket load.
As much as I like the .:R, I feel you will get bored very quickly due to your ED30 links/experience. Then of course there's the whole financial aspect to come into play too..
Also - don't get too carried away with the figures from APR's demo car, as most of that is down to LC + 4WD. So unless you use LC every time you come to a stop or go down the Loba route, it will be slower than your old Ed30 once up and running. In which case - how quickly would the bordom kick in...?

I need to try a 135i - I just cant believe that it could get anywhere near that MPG.

As for the choice - both are pretty rare, think the RS3 would be nice.  Spending 10k on a Golf R might make it lots of fun but your going to loose a lot of that - would you loose as much on an RS3? something to consider maybe.. putting money aside I think the RS3 would just scrape it.

I really like the TTRS. Although more for the performance rather than the looks :happy2:

Never really liked the TT's in both MKI or MKII. The performance is appealing, but the looks and practicality just don't do it for me.
Golf R gone.

.
TT and TTRS etc is a marmite car, I reckon. But no-one doubts the excellence of the TTRS engine  :notworthy:
