Clio Convertee
« on: August 21, 2012, 06:30:12 pm »
Hi Everyone,

I pick my first GTI up tomorrow!
It's a Steel grey late '07 DSG model with 18" monzas. It's a bit of a looker...  :embarrassed:

I'm switching to the Golf from a Clio 182 ( which I loved in every way possible and still do ) But just fancied a change really to somthing a bit more civilised! Be interesting to know if anyone else has come to a GTI from a 182?

I look forward to becoming an active member of the forum as it looks like a great place!

Will get piccies up ASAP  :happy2:

Cheers

Well after a few days of ownership I'm really enjoying it so far  :driver:

The build quality really is in another world compared to the Clio, feels like a much nicer place to be and sounds just like a golf when you close the door

I'm used to speed from the 182, don't think the GTI is much quicker but definitely feels like it has more available power in normal driving situations due to the turbo, you really had to push the 182 before it came alive.

I've included a few rubbish pictures before I get round to taking some decent ones.

Hi Pocket GTI,

There's a very persistent voice in the back of my head that's saying "R-tech remap" But I'm not sure. Initially I had planned to go lower, miltek, BMC CDA and a remap. But I'm enjoying it so much as standard that I think I'll keep it like it is, possibly going for a remap later on.
