Hey Guys,

I have my car about 7 weeks now and want to get it looking as clean as i possibly can, apart from washing it, all i have applied is DJ Red Mist.   Red Mist made a big difference with water beading, so I'm guessing the car has not being polished or waxed in along time.

So i want to start from scratch,

Every week my wash method is:

Snow Foam,
Rinse off,
Wash 2bm, DJ Sour Power Gloss Enhancer,
Rinse off,
Rinse off with Aqua Gleam Water Filter,
Dry with DJ Microfiber Towel,

I think what i need to fit in is, Tar remover, clay, polish, seal, wax or whatever else i need to do.

So I'm looking for advice on:
 
From start to finish, the correct method?
Best products to be used on Candy White?
Does the polish have to be machine polished?
Is it possible to get Candy White that really wet look?

Any other advise or something i forgot will be really appreciated,

for example Auto finesse do rejuvenate or tripple which are both fine by hand if you are wanting to apply a wax
alternatively you can get auto finesse tough prep if you are wanting to use a sealant afterwards i.e tough coat
or maybe the werkstat kit, which you will polish with prime by hand, the use the acrylic jett trigger
the list goes on.

I just used raceglaze pre wax cleanser followed by raceglaze 55, results look quite decent for so little prep, but my paint is in decent codition, and these are only phone pics

Mine is not white but for the money Auto Glym HD wax is fantastic.

What did you use for the polishing?

Whats the difference with applying a seal or applying a wax? Most both be done?

I peformed a correction detail at the beginning of the year with menzerna polish.

I went over the car with auto finesse rejuvenate polish by hand the other month.

Sealants tend to give better durability than waxes, hence why people use a sealant for durability, then go over the top with a wax for looks.
You dont have to use both, you can use a wax, a sealant or both. If you go for both, make sure you put the seakant on first and then the wax
The general consensus is that sealants give a better finish on white cars, as they give a more glassy look to the car.
They are easier to use, especially auto finesse tough coat or the werkstat kit.
I just prefer using waxes, cant explain why.
I'll be doing a machine polish and putting some auto finesse power seal on and tough coat next month probably for winter, so I'll report back then on the difference in looks compared to the waxes I've been using

Wax with Autoglym High Definition or Dodo Juice Supernatural Hybrid Past Sealant,

If i decide to machine polish and machine Seal, What kind of pads do i need?

If i am doing anything wrong or the wrong choice of product, please let me know,

Werkstat acrylic kit is very good for white. Real easy to use too.

I second that. Werkstat is a great product range.

Its generally accepted now that sealants perform better in terms of looks on lighter cars such as white,grey etc

I have a CW gti and have used a lot of different products from Swissvax Best of Shows to the suggested Werkstat Acrylic kit above. Werkstat is simply amazing, and very easy to use. It can be applied in cooler temperatures that other products would have issues in and the Acrylic Jet Trigger makes topping up protection very easy. I can also recommend Auto Finesse Tough Coat as a replacement for the Jett Trigger although the differences in looks are very very slim.

If your wanting an LSP thats a bit more durable and less maintenance (for example winter) then look at something  like G techniq c1 or Wolf's bodywrap/hard body. I am currently in the process of applying bodywrap to my golf for the upcoming winter (scottish winter might I add).
