Talk to me about broadband....
« on: August 20, 2012, 10:02:21 pm »
Right, I'm sick of TalkTalk and as I'm near the end of my contract I need to move providers...

Looks like the highest speed I can get on my line is "upto 24Mb" but prob closer to 14-17Mb (due to living in the sticks..)  :sad1:

Sky tell me that my line is not compatible with them for some reason, Virgin are expencive for what is on offer so it looks like it might have to be BT!

Anyone on BT? WHat are they like speed wise? Reliability? WHat is the BT Home Hub like?

I'm in DH8 and can get fibre from BT - have you checked lately to see if you're able to get it?
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

Virgin should run at the speed you pay for when hardwired, give or take a few meg. eg 30meg usually runs at 31.5, but 100meg usually runs at about 95. If its not then you had a fault or the ubr is overloaded in your area

Same here  :sad1:

The fastest my line can take is ~19.5Mb so no Infinity....

Just signed up for BT's 16Mb package and have been told to expect 17.1Mb  :signLOL:
