Hey guys, quick (rather mundane) question - my understanding is that this shown in the pic below is the fuel filter right?

Any ideas what to do with the ugly rusting top? Spray it? (Anyone else with a GT done this?)



Hey mate, you're right thats the fuel filter.

Not sure what causing the rusting exactly, they're not expensive to replace so just stick a new one in with your normal full service. That's what I've done.

Cheers Moz, are you sure the top part is replaced too? I thought it was only the internals (a cylindrical filter) that was changed during service? Not sure though!

I've bought complete units previously. Or you can remove it, sand it down and paint it bud.

Really liking your thread. I also have a Diesel, mines being the GT TDI 4Motion. Away to get Charlestons on Saturday, gorgeous set of wheels.

Well according to the guy I'm buying them from there I'm fine condition apart from a little kerb marks but I'm going to get them Refurbed over winter anyway. There's a couple of things I wana change being front an back lights. Gti fronts and r32 rears. All in good time! Lol.
