I ideally didn't want gold but I needed what ever they had in stock, I wanted black

should look good when I put my winter black alloys/ tyres on though

Hiya everyone

A friend very kindly offered me the use of his bodyshop during the Christmas period. This desperately needed after I had a little miss hap with a new clay bar which left the paint work on my R26R looking very sorry for itself as you can see below

I took taping the car to the extreme as I didn't want to mess around and used as much from the bodyshop as I could.

A few more before pictures under light

these are some pictures from polishing stages, I used a two stage polishing approach and was really happy with the outcome

here are some pics of the car in the bodyshop during the process

this was the first time outside before I re-washed the car to remove the dust

These are the final outside pictures

I'm going mad, I'm sure I've seen this before :rolleye:  You did an excellent job there... what happened with the Clay bar, not enough detailing spray?
Must be nice to have all that indoor area to work on it.

haha your not, I posted it in the detailing section as well but thought id keep this thread upto date as well

I think the clay bar was just too aggressive for the paint and hence all the maring and defects

I always use plenty of lube when detailing especially when claying to avoid any problems.

yeah it made a massive difference compared to the drive I usually use at home, was nice to be inside and cover it up inbetween

Washed the car for the first time since the detail and it was a pleasure to wash and im sure you'll agree it looks cracking

however, I did notice that there is a patch on the bonnet that's getting affected by the heat even though I have the gold reflective tape underneath

Havn't updated this in a while,

Not much has happened to be honest, just been enjoying the car, used it as a daily for 2 weeks and it was fine.

I've still got the car on black wheels at the minute. I've been having two wheels painted and 2 wheels decomtam'd due to the track pads and bigger brakes leaving loads of deposits on the red wheels, but they're more or less ready to go back on.

The car was burbling on idle, not obviously just but slightly, new injectors where needed and apart from that nothing else has happened

some pics

freshly painted wheels, cleaned, cleansed and sealed

they look different colours but its just the light and my camera skills
