Hi Guys,
I met up with Lee at the VW Driver Track day at Castle Combe a few weeks back as he wanted me to give his R a look over and see what we could do for him. We decided to book him in for a light enhancement detail, as Lee takes great care of the car e.g. wash technique, so the car was in very good shape. However the car is still used, and does many track days throughout the year and isn't shy to a few laps of the Nurburgring either!
We set out simply to remove any light swirl marks and defects present, and enhance the gloss/appearance of the paintwork which was very dull and lifeless.
Unfortunately a relatively quick write up, no pics of the wash/decontamination stage due to being carried out in between other jobs due to time constraints! Full wash/decontamination was carried out in the usual way!
On with the paintwork, the main focus of this detail. Overall, light marring/swirl marks were present, with a few RDS on the tailgate to deal with. The paintwork was machine polished via Chicago CP-8210 and Menzerna 203s with a 3M Yellow Pad, Menz 3.02 was also used in a few places to deal with any RDS.
A few correction shots! These 50/50's show how even paintwork which may look reasonable to the untrained eye can be lacking in clarity/gloss:
The black gloss sections on the car were also badly scratched, easily sorted out with a 3M 75mm Yellow Pad and Menzerna 203s.

Post correction the paintwork was refined using Dodo Juice Lime Prime, with a 3M blue pad. LSP of choice was Auto Finesse Tough Coat.
Finished results! Including some which the sun managed to peek through the clouds for!
Thanks for looking guys!
Comments, questions etc welcome as usual!
