Ta dude.
Nearly had it three months now. Few things I've noticed, none of which are huge issues, just part and parcel I suppose;
1) The car takes what feels like hours to warm up (compared with the GTI). Sometimes I can do 7 miles of NSL A road before it reaches midway on the water temp needle (90 degrees celcs IIRC). This isn't abnormal but just means I have to delay any turbo spooled blasts
2) If you're a lazy driver (like me) and you gear badly through town, you WILL find the turbo lag in second and third. In the Golf I'd get very comfortable and corner at 15mph in 3rd and it wasn't too much of a problem in that. Do it in the TDI A3 and you find yourself chugging or coasting with no boost when you should've changed down. It finds you out more as a bad town driver. I obviously need to improve my driving but just something I noticed
3) You get nowhere near as much courtesy, sympathy or politeness in an Audi
In the Golf, people would go out their way to let me out of junctions or slot into gaps with a flash. In the Audi, you get nothing. Yet more evidence that everyone loves a Golf
