Just sold my 5 Door slightly higher mileage (61000) but very well speced needed a quick sale trade bids were coming in at around £8.5K advertised it for £9.5K sold it to a forum member but had very few enquires from pistonheads:  http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/4167456.htm
if you don't need a quick sale I'd try it at either £10995 or £10495 if your going to get your Mk6 Golf retail may be worth seeing how good there part ex price is:
Golf MK6 R TTE420 & Gen1 RS3

Steel Grey and Candy white seem to hold their money a little more (less of them around).

I would say £9.75k but maybe as much as £10.5k, depends on options it has?, Xenons, Parking Sensors, RNS510, Cruise etc??, well specced cars tend to sell for more and quicker and more peeps are looking for them as lots of poverty spec ED30's around currently.

Unfortunately forum "Enthusiast" cars tend to be slightly higher valued by their owners than regular folks cars, on the bright side they do tend to be well looked after.

Not sure about going stale, maybe they just don't want to sell for less, someone will come along and pay it if it's the right car they want with right options.

Having spent the last few weeks looking at a variety of Golf GTi Mk5's I'd say you could reasonably ask £10.5k but you'd get a lot more interest if you could drop below the psychological £10k barrier (say £9,995)

Enthusiasts may pay a bit more for the right car but most punters don't care. Spec seems to be important so the more toys it has the better and for some reason 5dr cars seem to hold there value better (for practicality reasons I suppose, as I think the 3dr looks better)

The cheapest ones go for a shade under £9k but these tend to be leggier examples ( I did see one for £8.2k but it had done +130k!)

My budget was 8k tops so irritatingly I couldn't quite stretch to an ED30, so in the end I got a standard well specced GTi and got a bluefin

Hope that helps

Paul

Agree that options add value, as does 5Dr (maybe 300-500 extra), 3 door looks better but 5dr more practical (all my previous cars were 3 doors, but as a keen golfer I found that getting clubs into back seat was PITA, so got a 5dr).

There are quite a few on Ebay currently and seem to priced from 9K (high miles) to 13K, would think average asking price seems to be around 10.5K for 07.
