Vectra 3.2 GSI
« on: August 28, 2012, 06:36:47 pm »
Quite quick these aren't they?!
Was overtaken by one on a dual carriageway today, my stock Gti wouldn't have kept up if I had tried! Anyone else played with one of these?

Once they are rolling they aren't too bad  :signLOL:

I had one for about 3 months that tried to kill me on a regular basis by cutting the engine and all electronics randomly when turning right  :rolleye: :rolleye:

Must have taken you a while to get anywhere only turning left  :signLOL: I had one on loan when my Cupra r went missing, can't imagine it keeping up with a gti unless you left handbrake on, there is a VXR one I think, maybe it was one of them?

Vectra VXR wasn't available in that hideous shape and is a total different kettle of fish.. Blown 2.8 vs a N/A 3.2 and about 80bhp between them..

The only similarities they share are the griffin badge and the fact they both handle like an elephant on rollerblades..

No it was just a 53 plate, hpi'd the plate out of curiosity and just says 3.2 GSI.  We were rolling but it definitely had the legs on me.
Think I need a check on the rollers then just to save face!  :ashamed:

I remember test driving one. Horrific gearing and a bit of a gutless engine meant progress was difficult at best.

Far happier with the ST200 Mondeo I eventually bought.  :chicken:

Now that was a great car!! probably my favourite of all the cars i've owned, plus it would run rings around the vauxhall spag.

I hope ford bring out another Mondeo ST.  I've had every model of Mondeo ST to date  :signLOL:  That is a sad statistic for a 28 year old :sad1:

Id be very surprised if a std GTI could spank a 3.2 GSI all over the shop

I had 4 V6 Mondeo's over the years. 2x V6 Ghia one with RS 5 spoke wheels and Eibach springs. A Ghia X and the ST200 which I did over 70k and had for 4 years.

Wish I'd done a bit more to it really. Exhaust would have sounded nice as they were a bit refined.

Mk1 St24, Mk2 St24, Mk3 ST TDCI then Mk2 ST220,  oh and my grandad gave me his Scorpio Cosworth

thats ontop of my XR2i, , XR3i, and Focus ST, and the various other run of the mill fords I've had

I will 100% be buying a Mondeo ST if its released in the near future, especially now that it would almost certainly be turbo charged.

Love fords   :sad1:
