black rear badge options
« on: June 11, 2009, 03:45:13 pm »
hi guys
just realised my rear badge is just a metal shell going over the black locking mech... is any of yours the one that splits into two parts similar to the way that the front does?
i,m trying work out wether to either plasti dip it ala american stylee
or get it carbon wrapped but if i do it wont really show the vw emblem as its almost a flat surface
find a new one i think dubstop in the US does one for a tenner plus delivery-it says jetta-will it still fit?
or spray it gloss black to almost colour code it to the rest of the boot

ideas or options please as i have a rear with no emblem on it at all! :ashamed:
aaaaaggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :jumping:

yeah mate
i used a tiny flat screwdriver and then a credit card to wedge inbetween the emblem itslef and the plastic lock mech.
but ive realised that prob the more modern emblems split into two a bit like the ront badge but mine is just a very cheap metal shell like .
it means i cant get a 3d effect like ,i believe yours which is cool!
chemaleon can do a carbon face on it with either the crome showing around the edges or i can spray it black-matt or gloss or i can plasti dip it to get a very flat matt look which is growing on me, am even thinking i can do that with the carbon grill mask on order. and from what the yanks say you can just peel it off all rubbery if you change your mind.
i quite fancy a matt look bonnet but my GF says it looks like i been to the breakers and  couldnt get a matching lid  :signLOL: :signLOL: :ashamed:
