I bought my GTI from GTIWorld and yes, the price may have been a little high, but the car was in great condition, have been well impressed with the service i've received since the sale, and I managed to get GAP insurance, 2 free services and 3 years' MOT protection thrown in for the agreed monthly price  :happy2:

Well it looks like someone has bought it as it's now disappeared from the VW search :) If it had been closer to me then I'd have gone for it. Seemed an ok price to me for the equipment.

Cheers guys - really appreciate all your replies...  Interesting how they cover all the extremes!

Well, got a couple of hundred quid off, and for better or worse have gone and done it!  I've got a couple of bluetooth/satnav queries, but I'll start a new thread in the relevant place...

Pricey for an '07, but I guess it's worth what you're willing to pay and if its the right spec....

I'd haggle though. If you turn up with cash and are serious there's definitely room for negotiation.

I would have gone for it too if that's what I wanted. It's handy having the warranty as I have so far had the ac switch done that saved me £100 and a new turbo being done on Monday saving me £1250!

Yeah - I'm really not technical or car savvy, so was a little nervous of buying privately....  The 12-month warranty (at any VW garage - including the one at the end of my road!), makes the 8-hour round schlep from Manchester up to Edinburgh seem worthwhile...!

You get get a warranty on any car whoever you buy it from . doesn't cost much for peace of mind for 12/24 months

GTI world are one of the dearest around ! Having said that thats a very good spec
And its rare to find that on an eddy, price wise id say its about £1400 overpriced
Give them a call explane your situation genuine caller etc etc and try knock em down
