Annoying brake light problem
« on: August 31, 2012, 09:59:19 pm »
As above basically when i turn the car off and click the lock button with remote the car will lock and all lights will go off, usually around 7am in the morning which is like 9 hours later the brake lights seem to turn on somehow?
And the only way to turn it off is to open the car and press brake pedal once and release and then lock car again, Just unlocking and locking the car wont work.
Has anyone got any idea why this is or what is causing the problem?

Sounds like a problem with brake pedal switch, I'm certain there's a way to adjust it

get a diagnostics done with vcds. Brake pressure sensor is common fault on mk5 golfs. sometimes it could bean easy fix or end up replacing the whole abs pump which is a lot. but there are companies out there who rebuild abs pumps with a warranty.
