Strange one! (electric mirror problem)
« on: June 16, 2009, 07:03:57 pm »

Right guys, I often adjust the drivers mirror downwards to assist while parking, (still zero marks on my precious monza's!!)

However while adjusting it today i noticed something strange; both mirrors were moving !!!

On closer investigation i found;

 - Switch rotated to 'R' position; Both mirrors move up and down; Mirrors move opposites when moving left and right

 - Switch rotated to 'L' position; Only Left mirror moves as it should..

Any suggestions ?? Anyone seen or heard of this before ??

Think i could be the switch unit that has malfunctioned, or a problem with VAGCOM coding..

Thanks in advance, Z

This is a 'feature' of the mk5.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Topic closed, Lots of VW's do this;

MK5
Mk4
Bora
Etc
Etc..

Its a feature not a malfunction !!
