Detail My Ride - Ft SaintSteve's Tornado ED30 (Phylis)
Greeners:
Apologies for the delay in getting this write up done (Steve), been manic here at DMR towers!
I'm sure there is no need for an introduction of this car as we are all familiar with the love story that is Steve and his Tornado Red Edition 30 which he calls Phylis!
Steve wanted us to enhance the paintwork which although was one of the reddest of the Tornado's on here, the paintwork was lacking in definition and clarity due to some swirling and light scratches. There were also a few area's that had needed smart repairs so we did what we could to improve the look of those.
We were also asked to send the custom painted Huffs away for a refurbishment as they had lost a bit of the original shine, and a few chunks of metal here and there!
So here is Phylis on her arrival at DMR:
As you can see here, she's nice and red but not catching light and reflections as well as she could,
So onto the wash stage with the usual 2BM and decontamination of the paintwork. And yes it was raining and have others have guessed from our Facebook page, that is Gaz getting wet!
Now a few pics of the paintwork just to demonstrate what we had to deal with........
I think you all get the idea now!
So while the wheels were on holiday I thought I'd give the calipers a good clean up and polish/seal as they were looking very Tornado Pink!
Rears Before:

Fronts before:
After:
Scrub a dub dub!
Now onto the the polishing stage. Now I'm not kidding when I say we probably used every pad/machine/polish/system combination we have in the cupboards as the paint thickness and paint condition varied from panel to panel!! :fighting:
Some 50/50's (just for you Steve! )
Bonnet during polish stage:
Rear lights before:
And after: (pre refinement)
Door before:

Wheels back:
And now for some finished shots.......... :jumpmove:
Can't say I was overly impressed with the way the finished pics came out, so decided to upload a couple I took with my iPhone as they seemed to represent the true colour much better!
Want to give a huge thanks to Steve (and Mrs Steve) for taking the time and effort to bring the car to us all the way from the South Coast! :drinking:
Thanks for taking the time to read another one of our write ups.
Comments and questions welcome!

Having seen Steves car many times pre DMR I thought it always looked mint as he does take good care of it. Looking at the 50/50 pics I cant believe how bad it was.
Looking at it in the flesh now the paintwork is just awesome a proper head turner.
Great work guys :congrats:
Deako:
Good work guys. :happy2: Its safe to say my cars wont go anywhere else now, and not just because you are only a stones throw (down the road) from us.
Hedge:
Very nice guys. Did you wash the brakes too hot as they seem to have shrunk?
