What a difference a bulb change makes
« on: September 04, 2012, 03:06:56 pm »
Well not so much a bulb but a whole unit replacement.
I've had these for a while and only just got round to fitting them.
Will do pics when it's darker.

Before (pathetic)

After (cool)

Thank's
I'm riding around at the moment with one side led and the other standard, as in my pics above, when I was in an underground car park earlier today I noticed the floor was lit up brilliantly by the led's  and no light at all from the oem side.
Forgive me for not taking a pic, I forgot, will do a pic later tonight.

Was going to ask if you would post a pic with both light units fitted. I have replaced my oem bulbs with led bulbs bwut have a shadow /dark spot in the middle of the number plate. Would be most interested to see if you get this with these replacement units.

Thanks

Rich

Will be venturing outside soon to do pics with one fitted and both fitted,
I suspect there will always be a dark bit in the centre, doesn't matter what bulb you use.

Like these a lot bud, look good! Waiting for night time pics  :

Have tried various LED one and none any better than OEM, just a different colour. Was going to try Mk6 ones but these are half the price, nice find!

I've got the festoon bulbs but never fitted them, Bought them so long a go i doubt i could find them now, Will try tomorrow and find and fit them, though i can't belive they will be better than the 18 led units i fitted, But your pic say's otherwise.

The wires connect to the led unit and the cable that you unplug from the old vw unit, and that's it, The little silver boxes are resistors, But i never used them as they work perfect without them.
