Looks fine.  I take it there's no leak.

I don't think so i was a bit paranoid at first as i went though half a tank in a couple of days. To much WOT i suspect. If anyone else attempts this put that pipe on before installing the fuel rail and slide the spring clip for HPFP on also.

New BYD lump for next year.  Will have a think of what to do with it while it's out and what to buy in the meantime.

With the Milltek, Autotech HPFP and S3 intercooler I'm halfway there to some decent numbers.  Will come up with a list of stuff in the interim, just trying to maximise the KO4 with what I have.

Finally got my new BYD lump installed along with a Wavetrac LSD for the 02Q.  All work courtesy of Alex at AKS.  Revo stage 3 map with RS4 FPRV, estimates around 350bhp, certainly different to the KO3 on my old AXX, less low down punch but once it gets up there all hell breaks loose.   :driver: Haven't had chance to see what the LSD can do as yet.

Currently running Millers CFS 5W40 NT Nanodrive engine oil and Millers CRX 75W90 NT Gearbox oil.  Engine and transmission feel super smooth, like new again.  :happy2:

Need a set of michelins for the summer wheels in the next two weeks and should have a little more traction than the winters I still have on  :stupid:

No idea what to do next will enjoy the car and have a think over the next month or so.

First attempt with a bit of Aerospace 303.  Stuff is superb, bay came up like new without any thorough preparation  :happy2:

Also bought a set of Michelin PS3's all round, excellent bit of kit, compliments the LSD really well.

Just read this thread from the start. All the mods are nicely done and makes me want to spend lots on mine.

Was looking for some new decent OEM floor mats for mine but being an early MK5 I have the cam retaining clips rather than the circular later style, it seems a bit limiting on styles for the early ones.  Had a bit of a nose on the web and it was easy just pop the circular clips off the mats and pop your original cam style ones in on the later style mats.  Used a large flat blade screwdriver either side and just gently pries apart and they pop out, piece of cake   :happy2:

Mats ordered were 2007 onward and MK6 versions 1K2 061 22 5G 41E

Ignore the dirt, it needs a good clean

Had a bit of grief with the old girl the other day, first ever breakdown.  Car went into limpo mode after a spirited blat, I ended up pulling over and restarting the engine where it coughed then went straight to the redline .  Ended up calling the RAC and after several hours got a lift to my local garage.  My initial thoughts were throttle issues as there was obviously air going into the engine.  It was either air leak, throttle issues or throttle body.  Posted on TFSi tuning and thoughts there were along similar lines.

I disconnected the throttle pedal thinking no signal to the TB would give me more info and it did, the car still had the issue so I assumed the TB was jammed open.  When I got in I bit the bullet and bought a RevQ TB off Ebay for £120 brand new and gave it to the lads in the local garage.  Got a call the next day and went to see them where I was confronted with this  :scared:

Early revision A TB from 2004.  No wonder this was superceeded  :scared:

The main worry next was where was the remaining butterfly section.  Fortunately after inlet manifold off the remaining section was jammed in the entry to the inlet port and all in one piece.

Anyway all fixed now, my wallet is unexpectedly lighter but my car drives as good as the day I picked her up off AKS after putting the BYD in, back to being a plain looking Gti with 350 ponies under the bonnet.  :driver:

Need new rear brake calipers as one is binding slightly and a replacement pcv to inlet manifold pipe shortly.  At 110K and over 5 years of ownership it still puts a smile on my face (apart from when it breaks down)

Thats an interesting one. Glad you got it sorted.

There are some refurbished front and rear calipers in the FS section don't know if the seller will split them.

There is also a set of S3 rear calipers, which will be a good upgrade. You can then further enhance them by using larger carriers from the Audi A8 and 330mm discs. :happy2:

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

What part numbers or which year A8? Plug&Play or some adjustments needed?
