Aberdeen GTI
« on: September 05, 2012, 11:52:22 am »
Hi

New member Mike from Aberdeen. I see there's another Aberdonian a few topics below.

Proud owner of 3 door DSG GTI in the best colour (think it's called steel grey)! Had it for a couple of months. I'll try and get some pictures up.

Thought it was standard but found out from the garage there's a K04 turbo, bigger intercooler and bigger injectors on there! Also got a stainless steel exhaust but I don't know exactly what. (Thought the previous owner had told me everything but even he didn't know). One thing I wasn't so chuffed about is previous owner tinted front passenger windows and windscreen. Took the left window tint off myself, did a good job but took completely ages and I found a window tint guy who will do it cheap and save me hassle.

Already picked up a few ideas about what I want to do with it from here. Thinking about colour coding rear valance first.

Only a proud owner of it most of the time as just had a nightmare experience with it going into the garage and it's still not brilliant. Wondering if I can ask a couple of questions on here or stick them on a new topic?

Might be worth a trip to Wallace performance to get a rolling road session just to check everything is set up properly

There was a member on here done a k04 conversion and ragged the arse out of his car before getting it mapped and damaged his engine

Here's my car before I'd got the previous owner's private plates off.

I was having a look at Wallace Performance website. Thinking about giving them a ring but will post what's going on on the board. Any experience with them?

A few of my mates with jap motors swear by them
It has been new owners for the last few years so don't believe all the horror story's that are going about from years ago.

They are also revo dealers

It might be worth giving them a phone just to see what they can do but I think even getting a session on the rolling road will tell you alot about the car

Have you seen the east side forum? (local vag forum)
Stick a post on there to see how Wallace's are with vw s

Lovely looking car by the way I really like that colour  :happy2:

Thanks. It was really what I wanted - 3 door DSG in that colour. Like looking at it and it's a great car to be in but its problems do stress me out! Getting there step by step. lol.

Haven't seen that forum. Always good to get some local knowledge. Thanks

Welcome mate. I'm in Aberdeen as well, with a black 3dr dsg. Great car and hopefully you'll get yours sorted out soon enough. I'm going to Wallace performance for a remap once I've collected a few more bit (intake and exhaust) and have only heard good things about them from mates
